Esta medida se implement\u00f3 tras la firma del contrato modificatorio de gesti\u00f3n el 18 de julio, que permiti\u00f3 habilitar este nuevo mecanismo de control amparado en normas vigentes y aplicado en otras ciudades del pa\u00eds, como Quito y Guayaquil.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan la entidad, antes de la puesta en marcha del sistema se realizaron estudios t\u00e9cnicos y campa\u00f1as de socializaci\u00f3n dirigidas a los conductores, las cuales se desarrollaron desde inicios de julio de 2024. Las infracciones detectadas a trav\u00e9s de las c\u00e1maras son sancionadas conforme a lo estipulado en el C\u00f3digo Org\u00e1nico Integral Penal (COIP), con multas que van desde el 5 % hasta el 40 % del salario b\u00e1sico unificado, dependiendo de la gravedad de la falta. Las infracciones m\u00e1s comunes registradas son invasi\u00f3n de ciclov\u00eda, mal estacionamiento y uso inadecuado del casco de seguridad.
